DeKalb Cornhuskers starter Matt Pinke was in fine form against the Carson City Mustang at The Corn Crib, leading his team to a 6-2 win. Pinke got the win, improving to 7-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. Pinke allowed 1 earned run. DeKalb is now 54-50.
Early in the game, first baseman Yoshida Nakai had a 3-run home run for DeKalb. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Cornhuskers on top, 3-0.
Pinke called the triumph "a good team win."
