Frisco got a terrific performance from pitcher Yasuhiko Ito, but it wasn't enough to beat the Marysville Monarchs. Marysville won the Outlander Park contest, 3-2. Ito was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner was Jorge Guerrero, who threw 90 pitches over 6.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits. The Monarchs sit in second place in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division with a record of 58-48.

The Monarchs got a big boost from pinch hitter Shunso Aoyama who had a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning off Rams hurler José Trevino. It was his 8th walk of the season and put Marysville on top, 3-2.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Aoyama.
