The Long Island Ducks defeated the Silicon Valley Hackers, 6-3. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Curtis Downing, who was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. Naoki Okada, the winner, improved to 5-3. He held the Hackers to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Miguel Hernández converted his 14th save in 17 tries.
Fernando Gutiérrez didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to put Long Island on top, 2-0.
