Bulldogs Topple Tune-Ups with Late Rally

The Spokane Bulldogs got a rain-soaked win over the Youngstown Tune-Ups at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum.
The Spokane Bulldogs grabbed a 6-4 win over the Youngstown Tune-Ups at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. Spokane catcher Jeff Butler went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 to earn player of the game honors. The 'W' lifts Spokane's record to 50-51.
The Bulldogs beat the Tune-Ups with some clutch hitting. The single by Rey Valle in the top of the fifth is a good example. With two down, Valle gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he came through with the big hit.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Spokane manager Chris Carpenter.
