Spartans Get 10-6 Win Versus Jacksonville
The Jacksonville Hellcats got a superb performance from first baseman Bill Petipas. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Sandy Springs. The Spartans won the game, 10-6. In spite of the loss, Petipas was named the player of the game. He went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Sandy Springs reliever Guo Sang picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. José Arredondo shouldered the loss. Sandy Springs now sits in 4th place in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division at 47-52.

One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Jacksonville hurler José Arredondo, Thomas Bernard hit a sacrifice fly. The Spartans went on to win.

"Enjoyed this one," Bernard told the Sandy Springs News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
