Jail Birds Take Shellacking, Lose 18-2
|
Oscar Smith left his imprint on the 18-2 San Antonio win against the Newark Jail Birds. Smith, who is tied for 5th in the FFL in triples with 5, was 4-5 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Dave Munier earned the win for San Antonio. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 4-4. The 5th-place Storm Troopers raised their record to 40-56.
Francisco González didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a bases-clearing double to put San Antonio on top, 3-0.
