Tight Tilt Goes to Ninjas, 2-1
|
The New York Ninjas got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jérémy Thomas, who muffled the Jacksonville offense en route to a tight 2-1 Ninjas win at Confucius Field. Thomas got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Thomas allowed 1 earned run. Today's win puts New York at 45-52, while Jacksonville falls to 38-61.
Harold Stickells, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Luis Ramírez for a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season put New York in front, 2-1.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Stickells told the New York Herald. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
