Downing Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Long Island in Walk-Off Win
|
Long Island Ducks starter Mike Tyson turned in an exceptional performance against the Rock River Rats at Long Island Stadium, resulting in a Long Island win, 1-0. Reliever Miguel Hernández picked up the win. His record improves to 7-4. Kevin Crosby took the loss. Long Island currently is in last place in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division at 44-53.
Long Island's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied, Curtis Downing reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run.
"This place sure got loud," said Roger Fievet, the Long Island manager.
