Shamrocks Roll to 10-2 Win Over Beetlecats
|
The first-place Pacifica Shamrocks picked up another win at McCormick Field.
Owen Kay was superb against Buzzard's Bay. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the ACL in strikeouts with 94, had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 10-2 Shamrocks victory. Kay, the winner, moves to 7-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 4 walks.
Felipe Landavazo, who is tied for 3rd in the ACL in stolen bases with 33, helped out the Pacifica cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Buzzard's Bay manager Keith Irwin called the blowout loss "ugly."
The Shamrocks have an impressive 58-35 record.
