Hawks Suffer 4-1 Loss to Hackers

Silicon Valley and Boise got after it at San Jose Municipal Stadium.
The Boise Hawks got a superb performance from pitcher Hajime Ota. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Silicon Valley. The Hackers won the game, 4-1. In spite of the loss, Ota was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Willie Fierro earned the save for Silicon Valley, his 18th of the year.
Tied up with the Hawks in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Hackers got a boost from second baseman Edgardo Rodríguez. With the bases loaded, Rodríguez saw a 0-1 forkball from Hajime Ota and hit a 2-run double to break the stalemate and put Silicon Valley on top, 3-1.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Rodríguez.
Silicon Valley currently is in 5th place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League at 38-55.
