Storm Troopers Stun Beehive, 5-2
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers beat the Madison Beehive, 5-2, at The Hive. San Antonio left fielder Jooki Arroyo earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to Hirotami Asada in relief. His record improves to 4-6. John Haines took the loss. John Welch, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 18th save.
The most crucial at-bat for San Antonio came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Arroyo stroked a 3-1 fastball to center for a run-scoring double, putting San Antonio up, 3-2.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Arroyo.
The Storm Troopers' win now puts them at 35-54.
