The Sandy Springs Spartans topped the Spokane Bulldogs, 7-3, with youngster Chuck McNeil playing a key role. McNeil was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Spartans in the win. Spokane has now lost 5 straight.
Tied up with the Bulldogs in the top of the fourth inning, the Spartans got a boost from center fielder Pancho Figueroa. With the bases loaded, Figueroa saw a full count fastball from Eric Buffy and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Sandy Springs on top, 3-2.
