Boise and Riverside met at Red Bull Stadium in front of a lively crowd.
Boise beat Riverside on the strength of starter Wilson Polk's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 6-2 win. The 'W' lifts Boise's record to 45-44.
Pete Freeman had a go-ahead single for Boise in the top of the sixth inning. With two out and a runner on 2nd, the 20-year old right fielder hit a run-scoring single off Chris Bacon. His 88th hit of the season made the score 1-0.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Freeman said.
