Late Rally by Mustang Secures Win
|
The Carson City Mustang turned back the Wichita Wolverines, 5-4, at Howling Park. Kyung-jin Yun was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Carson City starter Mike Steveson was credited with the win after throwing 86 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 9-4. Mal Goff finished to wrap up his 20th save.
Vahe Kordonskaya made it 5-4 in favor of Carson City when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Mustang went on to win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Carson City manager Nobuharu Chikafuji.
