Rams Best Hackers in Pitching Duel
|
In a tight game between the Frisco Rams and the Silicon Valley Hackers, pitcher He-ping Wang was terrific on the mound. The Frisco right-hander was named the player of the game in Frisco's 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Wang, now 1-2. He tossed 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Shih-k'ai Mi finished the game for Frisco and earned his 2nd save.
Stanton Miller went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI against the Hackers. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a 2-run double, putting Frisco in front, 2-0.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Silicon Valley manager Bob Miller. "Obviously."
The Rams are now 44-43, while the Hackers fall to 34-50.
