The Boise Hawks got a good effort from starter Hajime Ota in defeating the Frisco Rams at Basque Block Field. The final score was 5-1. In 6 innings, Ota surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Katsunosuki Suzuki picked up the save, his 3rd.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Robert Mentzer went deep for the Hawks. With Boise leading 2-1, he drilled a 2-run home run.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Mentzer. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
