|
The Pacifica Shamrocks beat the Phoenix Lights, 5-4, in 11 innings. Pacifica second baseman Howard Jennings merited player of the game honors with his performance. He was 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch. The Shamrocks have an impressive 50-31 record.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Jennings hit a fastball from Cecilio Friuli for a solo home run. The Shamrocks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"There's no quit in this team," said Shamrocks manager Joe Leftwich.
