Snaps Fall to Beetlecats, 3-0
|
Pitcher Jason Beaton was sensational for the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats in his team's 3-0 triumph over the Cincinnati Snaps. Beaton received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The winning pitcher was Beaton, now 2-3. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The Beetlecats are now 37-40, while the Snaps fall to 38-43.
Buzzard's Bay right fielder Toshikasu Okuda helped the Beetlecats go up, 1-0, in the top of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Okuda hit a run-scoring double off Cincinnati pitcher Cisco Núñez.
Afterward, Beetlecats manager Keith Irwin was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
