Hawks Defeat Rats, 3-0
|
Boise got a first-rate effort from pitcher Bill Myers, who frustrated Rock River hitters en route to a 3-0 Hawks triumph at The Rat Hole. Myers went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-3. James Woodard converted his 17th save in 20 tries.
The Hawks beat the Rats with some clutch hitting. The single by Collin Reyes in the top of the third is a good example. With two down, Reyes gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Reyes.
The Hawks, at 37-42, sit in 4th place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League.
