Hawks Go Down to Defeat, 7-3
|
The Rock River Rats downed the Boise Hawks, 7-3, at The Rat Hole. Nobuatsu Nakashima led the way, going 1-for-2 for Rock River. Tom Wilson earned the win to go to 4-1. He allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The Rats improved to a lofty 56-23.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when designated hitter Luis Alvarez hit a run-scoring double. The Rats went on to win.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Alvarez told the Rock River Daily News.
