In a high-scoring contest between Pacifica and Long Island, left fielder Yasusaburo Sato was a difference-maker. Sato earned player of the game honors in the 9-8 Pacifica win. He went 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 3 times. Pacifica reliever Subaru Suzuki picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-2. Stuart Organ was collared with the loss. Pacifica leads the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division by 2½ games.
The Shamrocks got a big at-bat from shortstop Vicente Ortega. For the game, Ortega was 1 for 4 with a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 58th hit of the season gave Pacifica a 6-4 lead.
