Sato Slugs Mustangs to 5-1 Win
|
The Mile High Mustangs defeated the Oklahoma City Prowlers, 5-1, in Thurman Munson League action at Memorial Circle Park, with Mile High third baseman Shunso Sato named player of the game. Sylvester Richardson was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Getting the save was Quan Que, his 1st.
Sato contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the eighth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one of the critical at-bats that helped Mile High get the win.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Mile High manager Joe Ward.
The Mustangs have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 4 games.
