Silicon Valley rode a good effort from starter Yoshiaga Adachi to beat the Topeka Predators at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The final score was 4-2. In 5 innings, Adachi surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Willie Fierro was called on to finish, recording his 16th save.
The Hackers took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Keith Hawley banged a two-out double. Silicon Valley had been trailing 1-0, but Hawley hit a 3-1 fastball from Andrés Hernández for a 2-run double.
After the game, Silicon Valley manager Bob Miller applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Silicon Valley, at 33-43, occupies 5th place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League.
