Rice Excels in Atlantic City Win
|
Mark Rice helped his team muscle past the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 8-5. In the game, the Atlantic City right fielder went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Le-song Kao, the winner, improved to 3-3. He held DeKalb to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Doug Durham earned the save, his 2nd.
John Dyck's at-bat in the bottom of the fourth was significant for the Enforcers. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Atlantic City leading 3-2, the second baseman hit a sacrifice fly.
"It was a solid team effort," said Dyck after the game.
The Enforcers move to 38-38 with the win, while the Cornhuskers drop to 38-37.
