Matsumoto Lifts Hackers to 7-2 Win
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers defeated the Pacifica Shamrocks, 7-2, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Silicon Valley catcher Kiyoji Matsumoto was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Silicon Valley is now 32-43, Pacifica 44-29.
With Silicon Valley leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Matsumoto hit a cutter from Owen Kay for a bases-clearing double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Hackers ahead, 5-0.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Matsumoto.
