The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Boise fans at Basque Block Field.
Robert Mentzer was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Atlantic City Enforcers. The first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Boise Hawks. With the win, the Hawks have a record of 35-38.
Boise grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when Mentzer, the 16 overall pick in the 2030 draft, hit a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Hawks out in front, 2-1.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Mentzer. "But I have better dreams after a win."
