Cornhuskers Pick Up 7-2 Win
The DeKalb Cornhuskers picked up a win at Cowboys Stadium, knocking off the Carson City Mustang, 7-2. Starting pitcher Morihiro Hashimoto, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Kazushige Kichida earned the save, his 1st, for the Cornhuskers. The losing streak for Carson City has now reached 5 games.

DeKalb took control in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Pete Bauer hit a run-scoring double to make it 2-1, Cornhuskers.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Bauer told the DeKalb Observer. "It's as simple as that."
