The Marysville Monarchs got a stellar performance from pitcher David Lidstone, who handcuffed the Frisco offense en route to a 1-0 win at Mitts Fieldhouse. The win puts the Monarchs at 42-33, while the Rams drop to 40-33.
Had António Ayala not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ayala hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Monarchs.
"We'll savor this win," Lidstone told the Marysville Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
