Losing Streak Continues for Mafia with 6-2 Loss to Black Knights
|
The Brooklyn Black Knights got a stellar performance from pitcher Fred Price, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a 6-2 win at Don Corleone Park. The winning pitcher was Price, now 4-5. He tossed 8.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. Mike MacInroy finished the game for Brooklyn and earned his 1st save.
Todd McCarthy delivered a big hit for the Black Knights. The veteran right fielder belted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh. The longball put Brooklyn on top, 6-2. Overall, McCarthy went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3.
"This losing is getting old," said New York manager Roberto Campos.
The misery continues for the Mafia, which has now dropped 10 in a row.
