The Boise Hawks took Atlantic City pitcher Vincente Herrera's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Basque Block Field. The final score had Boise getting past the Enforcers, 4-2. Herrera went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 5. James Woodard was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 17 save opportunities. The 4th-place Hawks improved to 34-37.
Boise took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, second baseman Silas Lyons hit a 3-run home run that brought the crowd to its feet.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Boise manager Arinori Nakamura. "It's usually not just one thing."
