Madison got a first-rate effort from pitcher Marco Godoy, who frustrated DeKalb hitters en route to a 3-1 Beehive triumph at The Hive. Madison reliever Jonathan Marion was the winner. His record is now 3-7. Kazushige Kichida took the loss. John Haines earned the save, his 12th, for the Beehive.

Rich Burnes provided some late-game drama. In the bottom of the eighth, with one out and a runner on 1st, Burnes hit a run-scoring double. It helped Madison take the lead and grab the win.

"Nice to get this one," said Burnes. "Wins have been hard to come by."

Madison currently is in last place in the Bob Moose League Jim Leyland Division at 24-49.
