Ninjas Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The New York Ninjas downed the Wichita Wolverines, 6-5, in 10 innings. Yo Yamamoto led the way, going 3-for-5 for New York. The winner was New York reliever Jeff Kent, now 1-2. The loser was Pedro Galló. Dae-je Kwak locked down his 11th save.
The Ninjas used some clutch hitting to beat the Wolverines, a good example being the at-bat of Mutsuhito Yamamoto in the top of the fifth. With two down, Yamamoto gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he hit a run-scoring single.
In postgame remarks, Yamamoto simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
With the victory, the Ninjas record now stands at 30-39.
