Loss to Cornhuskers Extends Madison Losing Streak
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers picked up a win at The Hive, knocking off the Madison Beehive, 7-3. On the mound for DeKalb was right-hander Jim Leclair, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 6.2 innings, Leclair surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The slumping Beehive have lost 7 straight.
Gerardo Zapata contributed to the DeKalb win. The 26-year old right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fourth. For the game, Zapata was 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
