Win Streak Now at 8 for Mustang
|
The Carson City Mustang got a stellar performance from pitcher Héctor Navarro, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a 6-1 win at Confucius Field. Navarro, now 2-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. The winning continues for Carson City, with the latest making it 8 straight.
Ernesto Santiago had a go-ahead double for Carson City in the top of the second inning. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the 30-year old catcher hit a run-scoring double off Lourenço Russa. His 3rd double of the season made the score 1-0.
"We feel like we're going to win every game right now," said Carson City skipper Nobuharu Chikafuji.
