Beetlecats Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus Youngstown
|
Buzzard's Bay first baseman Ethan Gurston played a vital role in his team's 7-4 triumph over Youngstown. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk for Buzzard's Bay. Buzzard's Bay reliever Dimitri Jourdan was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Bruce Easton. The last-place Beetlecats improved to 29-36.
With two out in the top of the second, Ralph Hemphill barreled up a fastball from Bruce Easton. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Beetlecats in front, 5-0.
In comments to the Buzzard's Bay Citizen, Gurston admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
