Storm Troopers Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Bulldogs
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers got a superb performance from left fielder Jooki Arroyo, but the Spokane Bulldogs still won the game, 6-4. Arroyo was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Spokane reliever Craig Wyman picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. John Welch took the loss. Gervais Gandon locked down his 6th save.
The most important at-bat for Spokane came in the top of the tenth inning, when designated hitter Orlando Méndez stroked a first pitch fastball to left for a 2-run single, putting Spokane up, 6-4.
"Exciting game to play in," said Méndez. "Getting the win makes it even better."
The Storm Troopers have now dropped 5 straight.
