Silicon Valley designated hitter Greg Coker had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Riverside at Red Bull Stadium. Coker was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Riverside reliever Lien-ying Mar picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Willie Fierro shouldered the loss. The first-place Red Bulls have won 5 in a row.
The Red Bulls were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when third baseman Kenko Hori turned a 1-0 fastball from Willie Fierro into a 2-run single. The walk-off single electrified the Red Bull Stadium denizens and sent the Red Bulls home with a thrilling 4-3 win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Hori said.
