Hawks Come Back Late, Nip Tune-Ups
|
The Boise Hawks eked out a 3-2 win versus the Youngstown Tune-Ups at Basque Block Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Mauro Vázquez, who captured player of the game honors. Boise now owns a record of 31-31.
Boise designated hitter Gijs Santegoeds had a game-changing at-bat in the bottom of the ninth. On a fastball from Sachi Kakuta, he launched a solo home run. It gave Boise a 3-2 lead.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Santegoeds said.
