The Newark Jail Birds met little resistance from the Phoenix Lights, beating them 11-2 at UFO Field. Rob Finch led the way. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Newark. The third-place Lights have lost 4 straight games.

Phil Mouland helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring single to give Newark a 1-0 lead.
