Crawford Shines in Beehive Win
|
The Madison Beehive defeated the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 10-6, at The Hive. Madison first baseman Scott Crawford was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Marco Godoy earned the win to go to 1-3. He allowed 6 earned runs on 10 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. John Haines notched his 11th save in 15 chances.
Santiago Hernández drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Madison. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Steve Becker. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Crawford, "but we could've played better."
The Beehive' win now puts them at 22-41.
