Wichita Makes It 6 Straight with 5-4 Win
The Wichita Wolverines and Cincinnati Snaps obliged those fans who came to Howling Park hoping for nail-biter.

Wichita overcame a superlative game from Diego Castro to beat Cincinnati, 5-4. The Cincinnati pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Wichita reliever Pedro Galló, now 2-0. The loser was Bob Torley.

Late in the game, shortstop Manny Gonzáles had a big at-bat for Wichita. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off Bob Torley. The play gave the Wolverines a 5-4 lead.

"We had a chance to win," said Cincinnati manager Bryan Powell, "but we didn't get it done."

The third-place Wolverines have won 6 straight games.
