The Spokane Bulldogs thumped the Sandy Springs Spartans, 9-1, at The Kennel. Gilles Petit was a big reason his team got the win. Petit was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. With the win over Sandy Springs, the Bulldogs improved to 27-34.

Also pitching in for Spokane was right fielder Rey Valle, who hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, Valle went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3.

Bulldogs manager Chris Carpenter had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
