New York Ninjas starter Paolo Jens turned in an exceptional performance against the Rock River Rats at The Rat Hole, resulting in a New York win, 3-2. In 6.1 innings, Jens surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Jim Unknown earned the save for New York, his 1st of the year.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Mutsuhito Yamamoto hit a go-ahead 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and with it the Ninjas took a 2-0 lead.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Jens told the New York Herald.
The Ninjas go to 27-32, putting them 4th in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division.
