Boise and Silicon Valley met at San Jose Municipal Stadium in front of a lively crowd.

The Boise Hawks knocked off the Silicon Valley Hackers, 8-2, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Steve Osburn, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Boise won. The catcher was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Hajime Ota earned the win for Boise. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 4-2. Sung-moon Lee got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Osburn in the top of the fourth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Hawks leading 2-1, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Bob Miller.

Boise is now 29-29, Silicon Valley 27-34.
