Pitcher Robinson Merrado was sensational for the Wichita Wolverines in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Carson City Mustang. Merrado received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Merrado, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 6 walks. Wichita is now 27-29, while Carson City is 31-27.
Ernesto Andrade chipped in for Wichita, stroking a crucial run-scoring double in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, the right fielder went 1-4 with a double.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Merrado told the Wichita Times.
