Hawks Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Red Bulls
|
The Boise Hawks topped the Riverside Red Bulls by the score of 7-4, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Bernardo Ramírez. Ramírez was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Hawks. Boise reliever Katsunosuki Suzuki picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Joe Mason was collared with the loss. James Woodard converted his 12th save in 14 tries.
Ramírez turned the game around in the top of the eighth. Facing Joe Mason, the Boise left fielder rapped a grand slam home run. Suddenly, the 4-2 Boise deficit turned into a 6-4 lead.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Ramírez.
With the win, the Hawks have a record of 27-28.
