Kato Stars for Rams in 8-2 Win
|
The Frisco Rams defeated the Youngstown Tune-Ups, 8-2, at Outlander Park today. Leading the charge for Frisco was first baseman Shunen Kato. He went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Frisco reliever Bobby Mannix picked up the win to move to 2-3. Jay Coxford suffered the loss. Frisco, at 34-23, sits in second place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League.
In the bottom of the second inning, Frisco got a break when Kato went to the plate. With one out, a runner on 1st and the Rams trailing 2-0, Kato hit a 2-run home run.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Rams manager Rafael Castillo.
