The Frisco Rams wasted an impressive 5-inning effort from starter Juan Lucero, falling 2-1 to the Youngstown Tune-Ups at Outlander Park. Youngstown reliever Ron Harris picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Juan Lucero took the loss. Koshiro Ohayashi was credited with the save for Youngstown, his 18th of the season.
Rich Gonzalez had a go-ahead triple for Youngstown in the top of the second inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the 19-year old second baseman hit a run-scoring triple off Juan Lucero. His 5th triple of the season made the score 1-0.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Gonzalez. "The only team that can beat us is us."
The Tune-Ups, at 32-25, sit in third place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League.
