Cornhuskers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Rock River, 11-9
|
In a high-scoring game between DeKalb and Rock River, pinch hitter Steve Bailey was a difference-maker. The 30-year-old earned player of the game honors in the 11-9 DeKalb win. He went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win was Ryan Shelton's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. George Fortin Jr. took the loss for Rock River. The second-place Cornhuskers have won 5 consecutive games.
DeKalb took a 11-8 lead on Bailey's 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off George Fortin Jr. in the top of the eighth, propelled DeKalb to the win.
"Crazy game," said Bailey after it ended.
