In a well-pitched game between the Frisco Rams and the Youngstown Tune-Ups, pitcher Yasuhiko Ito was fantastic. The Frisco left-hander was named the player of the game in Frisco's 2-1 win. Cheng-qian Xia closed the door for Frisco, picking up his 1st save of the year. The Rams saw their win-loss record go to 33-22. At the same time, the Tune-Ups fell to 31-25.
In the bottom of the 6th, Frisco took the lead on a 2-run home run by Mark Spencer. At the time, the Rams were trailing 1-0, but Spencer's hit with two outs against Youngstown pitcher Bruce Easton put them in front, 2-1.
"Runs were at a premium," said Frisco manager Rafael Castillo.
